Our matcha & hojicha is from the Uji district, Japan which is famous for its high quality matcha leaves. It is direct traded from Kiyosen Japan which is run by Izumi San. Izumi San is from a generation of family with deep roots in tea cultivation and production, so rest assured your matcha needs are well taken care of.
The carefully selected matcha leaves then undergoes a steaming process to preserve the color and nutrients, and then dried. The dried leaves are then ground into a very fine powder which we are commonly known as Matcha Powder.
Our uji matcha powder is of High Tencha grade. This means it is suitable for beverage and cooking (pastries, cakes, waffle, cookies and gelato).
